Engineer - Sustainability

Md. Akhtarujjaman is a Textile Engineer from Bangladesh University of Textiles (BUTEX) and working as an Engineer- Sustainability at Reed Consultancy, Bangladesh. With his bachelor’s degree in Textile Engineering, he focuses on cleaner production, environmental impact assessment, chemical & waste management, resource-efficient textile production in terms of water, energy, and chemical, project management, and environmental management plan. He has a practical experience in textile dyeing process optimization, leading capacity development projects in the textile & apparel factories.

He has trainings on Climate Action, Foundational Sustainability Skills & Competencies, Sustainable Chemical and Environmental Management, Hazardous Waste Management, Master Training on Water: Water Supply, In-House, End-of-Pipe, ToT on ETP operators Training, Training on Higg FEM 3.0, Advanced MS Excel, Textile Testing for Quality Assurance, Data Analysis with SPSS, Initiating and Planning Project, and Product Development.

​He works on project management, conducting training & capacity development on sustainable chemical, waste, water, and energy management in line with Higg & ZDHC guidelines, factory engagement, training materials development, providing consultancy support for water, energy, chemical, waste, wastewater management, report writing, and conducting research activities on the hazardous chemicals and skill gap analysis of textile and apparel industry with Reed Consultancy, Bangladesh. 

​He loves bike riding, reading, and writing. He writes regularly on trending issues of the textile industry.
